Phase 2 of our play park is open!

We have opened the gates to the second phase of our play park project, which focuses on the needs of younger children and wheelchair access. As you can see from the photos, it's already a great success and very well used by children of all ages and abilities!

We are planning the official phase 2 park opening at 4pm on Friday 13 June, by which time we will have removed the safety fencing (currently protecting the newly laid turf) and will have installed some of our volunteer constructed benches.

We will probably do this more than once but we'd like to thank the many volunteers who have made this all possible, whether through fundraising, writing grant applications, managing contracts or helping with the installation and landscaping. It's been a monumental effort by so many people and a real community achievement!

We would also like to thank the companies and grant-giving organisations who made it all financially possible, and of course to Graham MacGregor LTD Joinery and Building Contractor, who provided machinery and ​S22 Contracting, who donated the turf that's set the play area off so nicely.
