The True Colours Trust

We were very lucky to receive a grant from The True Colours Trust towards Phase 2 of our play park. The Trust provide grants which are designed to make a difference to the lives of disabled children and their families and to improve access to good palliative care. As such, their funding specifically contributed to the installation of our accessible play equipment, especially the wheelchair accessible trampoline pictured below.

The Trust recently commissioned researchers from the Cicely Saunders Institute at King’s College London, and the Universities of York and Leeds, to work with parents of children with life-limiting illness and bereaved parents to develop some resources that provide best practice guidance on working with parents. These resources are intended for use by anyone who consults parents and carers about their experiences. There is a short film, an infographic and a set of worked examples and there is more information on their website. We are sharing these links here in the hope they are of value to others beyond our park project.

We hope the new play park will make a small but significant difference to the lives of families with disabled children.
