The SRA’s initial project was identified in March 2012 when an unused area of land adjacent to the school Playing Field was considered a suitable asset to be developed for the benefit of the whole village.
Following extensive consultation with local residents it became clear that an enhancement of local facilities could well be addressed by a well planned development of this area of land.

The proposed project is to develop a 1.84 hectare Community Park on semi-derelict open space in the spa town of Strathpeffer,
22 km north west of Inverness. The park will be owned and managed by the community.
The park will provide a new focus for the village, including active and passive recreation; activities for health and well-being; training and skills development; community food production; enhanced wildlife and environmental improvement. In addition the project would be a boost to the local economy by enhancing the image of Strathpeffer and potentially providing jobs and skills. The project has evolved from public demand and is overwhelmingly supported by the local community.
