We are delighted to announce we've been awarded an amazing £9,500 by the Anne Duchess of Westminster’s Fund towards delivery of the first two phases of our community Bike Zone! Construction of Phase 1 starts w/c 18th September.
The bike zone will be developed with Highland Trail Riders (HTR) who will provide the skills and experience we need to deliver a first-class facility. HTR have contributed £300 towards the project and have also been awarded £2,000 from the EDF Renewables Corriemoillie Wind Farm Community Fund (Strathpeffer). Ben Wyvis Cycle Club have also contributed £300 in recognition of the value the Bike Zone will have in helping develop cycle skills and confidence in the area.
Our existing bike trail, built by park volunteers, is getting a lot of use. The next phase will work with specialist local bike track contractor Ronan Taylor to upgrade the existing track and build a series of expert-designed jumps between the bottom of the existing track and the path.
Phase 2 will require additional funding but will deliver an amazing 'pump track' circuit.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this part of the Bike Zone project so far! If you'd like to get involved, please get in touch.
